Oh, dear. When will it end? Lupita Nyong'o is the latest star to jump on the bandwagon of celebrities making tasteless comparisons. She opened up to Vogue about her "overwhelming" experiences on the red carpet.
''Everyone said, 'Brace yourself, Lupita! Keep a granola bar in that clutch of yours!'" Nyong'o recalled. "I didn't really understand what they meant, and it was only once it was past that I realized that my body had been holding on by a thread to get through this very intense experience. Nothing can prepare you for awards season."
"The red carpet feels like a war zone, except you cannot fly or fight; you just have to stand there and take it," she continued.
The "12 Years A Slave" star also explained how the film shot her to fame.
''It just feels like the entertainment industry exploded into my life," the actress explained. "People who seemed so distant all of a sudden were right in front of me and recognizing me - before I recognized them!"
"For a split second I looked behind me to see who they were flashing at - and it was me! That was, I think, the beginning of the end of my anonymity," she continued.
Nyong'o beat out Jennifer Lawrence for Best Supporting Actress at the 2014 Academy Awards. She was also seen in "Non-Stop" alongside Liam Neeson.
It was recently announced the multi-talented star would join the cast of "Star Wars."Lucasfilm confirmed that Nyong'o and "Game of Thrones" star Gwendoline Christie will join "Star Wars: Episode VII."
"I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII," says Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy stated. "It's thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape."
