Mike Sorrentino found himself a situation Tuesday at Boca Tanning salon in Middletown, N.J. The former reality star owns the salon with his family, and got into a fist fight with his brother, Frank. Police arrived at 2 p.m., when Sorrentino was charged with simple assault and posted $500 bail.
The former MTV star told photographers Frank "was not running the store correctly, so I had to go in there and clean house, in more ways than one."
His right eye appeared bruised and there are scratches on his neck. According to Police Lt. Stephen Dollinger, Sorrentino was the only one charged in the incident.
It was recently announced Sitch would take part in a new reality show with his family, "The Sorrentinos," which involves them opening a tanning salon.
The "Jersey Shore" villain sought help for a painkiller addiction, which stemmed from a neck injury on "Dancing with the Stars" in 2010. He checked into rehab in March 2012.
"Mike today? I wake every day these days with a smile," Sitch said upon completion. "Happy to be alive. Happy to have the family that I have. Happy to have the fans that I have, the friends. Happy to be involved in the show ... almost like a smell-the-roses moment. ... I know where I am and I know where I'm gonna be and that's all that counts."
"During the last 80 days I've received an e-mail from Vinny, texts from Pauly, I think a text from Ronnie, [and] from Jenni,"
"At the end of the day, all the kids care for each other. I'm sure some of them didn't know how to handle it," he continued.
The star opened up to the Associated Press in September about his struggle.
"All I had to do was get dressed for a family function and I couldn't do that," Sorrentino revealed. "The shirt was laid out, the belt, the pants, everything. The shower was on. I couldn't even get out of bed."
He then added, "If I can't [get dressed], how am I going to continue?"
A court date has not been scheduled at this time.
