Ellen Page came out to fans about four months ago, and has since been an icon for the young LGBT community. She attended the TrevorLIVE event in New York Monday night. The "irrelevant evening of comedy and music" has become a staple for The Trevor Project, the nation's leading provider of crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for the LGBTQ youth.
"I am so proud to be part of #TrevorLIVE and support the life-saving work of @TrevorProject!" she tweeted before the event.
The "Juno" star recently slammed Texas governor Rick Perry after his anti-gay remarks.
"Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide not to do that. I may have the genetic coding that I'm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way," he said at the Commonwealth in California.
Page fired back on twitter, writing, "are you for real? @GovernorPerry."
We told you in May the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" actress stepped out with a mystery blonde in Manhattan, who appeared to be her girlfriend, and enjoyed a meal at Café Habana followed by a trip to McNally Jackson books and Whole Foods.
"I'm so stoked to get married," Page recently told The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm such a romantic, it's awful. And I don't think I'd want to make a kid, but I'd love to raise one. I'd love to raise a kid."
The Canadian star felt coming out would enhance her life, and it seems it has done just that!
"I knew I would be happier," Page explained. "But I wouldn't have anticipated just how f***ing happy I am and how every tiny little aspect of my life feels better."
