Lorde's parents are finally engaged! During a family trip to Niagara Falls, the "Royals" singer's dad Vic O'Connor proposed to her mother Sonja Yelich with a diamond ring. She shared the good news with fans on Twitter. Congratulations to the happy family!

"BEST DAY - went to niagara falls (sic) - my dad proposed to my mum after almost 30 years together," she tweeted with a variety of emoticons.

She followed up with, "Inevitable response yes i know i have seen a diamond now."

The family was in Canada as Lorde performed at the 2014 MuchMusic Awards in Toronto, and won the award for International Video of the Year.

Lorde also made headlines this week for sharing part of Jennifer Lawrence's private e-mail address on twitter. Recalling a conversation with a friend, the singer wrote:

"Win: do you have jen lawrence's new email me: oh yeah lemme look me: i think it's got 'butt' in it."

It seems the "Tennis Court" crooner has a lot to celebrate lately, as it was also announced she will be collaborating on a make-up collection with MAC.

"I'm notoriously difficult in terms of, if I think a brand is corny, it's very hard to change that," she explained. "I used to buy MAC in New Zealand when I could afford it."

"I have a skeleton kit: tinted moisturizer, mascara, a lip. I'm not that good at applying hardcore makeup," the songstress added. "To be honest, I walk around all the time without makeup. I've had super-bad skin and it's just starting to clear up."

The controversial artist has not been shy about fellow peers and how she feels about them. In the past Lorde has thrown shade at Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift (who is now her friend), and David Guetta, just to name a few.

Rapper Iggy Azalea gave her a taste of her own medicine, questioning her recent Kurt Cobain tribute.

"Nothing against her, but I think when you're doing a tribute to someone that's dead, generally it should be the person's peer," she told Billboard. "Lorde is not Kurt Cobain's peer. No matter if she killed the performance or not, I just don't think it's appropriate."

Harsh.
