It looks like Adam Levine is quite a traditional guy as it was revealed the he asked his fiancé Behati Prinsloo's father for permission to marry his daughter.

According to Us Weekly, during an interview with Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" on June 16th, the Maroon 5 leader singer told the host that "of course" he asked her dad before proposing to the hot model.

Adam Levine seemed to want to keep his lady all to himself as the "Maps" singer was hesitant to when asked about just how he went about popping the big question to the South African beauty.

The "Begin Again" actor confessed, "I did ask his permission," adding, "I don't want to talk about it, you know how I am, but yes, of course I did. I had to. And it was extremely nerve-racking."

Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo got engaged back in July 2013, after a previous split during which he dated Nina Agdal.

At the time of the engagement a source told the publication, "He realized he really does love her and she was the one."

Recently named People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, the singer admitted that he has come a long way since his days as a high school student suffering from acne.

When speaking of how Maroon 5 initially formed Levine explained, "We were freshmen in high school, no girls would talk to us."

The "Love Somebody" singer joked about his 15-year-old self back in the day. He said, "I had pimples all over my face. I was not cool, really, at all. And that's when all of this started, and we're still doing it. It blows my mind."

Adam Levine also confirmed that "The Voice" would be welcoming new judge Gwen Stefani in the upcoming season.

When asked by Seacrest about the No Doubt songstress Levine said, "How do you know everything already? I wanted it to be a surprise, but [yes] she is."
