Mayim Bialik took a long hiatus after "Blossom" in the nineties. The mother of two opened up today on Australia's KIIS FM 1065 about returning to Hollywood and attachment parenting. Keep reading to hear what she had to say!

Bialik currently plays Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on "The Big Bang Theory." Before landing the role Bialik was unaware of the amazing success of the show, and admits she did not watch much television.

"I had never seen the show, I wasn't a TV watcher so I hadn't seen it," she told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O. "I didn't realize it was this super big deal."

When asked how she managed to not watch TV, the star replied, "I had two young children I was busy doing mum things."

"Blossom" aired from 1990 to 1994 on NBC. Aside from acting Bialik has a PhD in Neuroscience.

"I needed health insurance," she said of returning to the small screen. "I had two small kids and I hadn't really acted as an adult. I had done it when I was younger and I figured actors are never employed so I could see my kids all the time."

"The Big Bang Theory" actress split from husband Michael Stone in 2013 after nine years of marriage. They announced their separation in November 2012 and have two sons together, eight year old Miles and five year old Fred.

Bialik also spoke about her attachment parenting tactics.

"There a nice attachment parenting community in Australia," she said.

"I safely slept with both of my boys, I've never owned a crib. We had two giant mattresses on the floor it was a bit musical beds."

Last year the star opened up about her divorce to ABC News.

"Divorce is not fun and I don't recommend it, but kids are absolutely resilient and they are also very sensitive and complicated little people," she revealed.

"So, it's been a summer of adjustment, but I'm happy to report they are doing really well."
