George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are in the midst of wedding plans, and according to reports they are looking to wed in Venice this September, one year to the day after they met.
"George and Amal want to be married in Italy, but they need a location that offers them and their guests privacy," a source told Page Six.
The pair originally planned to wed at Clooney's Lake Como estate, but the "Monuments Men" star did not want to inconvenience neighbors with all the attention it would bring. It also does not offer enough privacy for the occasion.
The Oscar winning actor and his human rights lawyer fiancé were seen dining in Venetian restaurant Da Ivo with Clooney's bodyguard and his girlfriend last month. They enjoyed sautéed shellfish, smoked tuna, mussel soup, crayfish and artichoke risotto and charcoal-grilled sea bass along with Prosecco and white wine.
They traveled to the restaurant by motorboat and the next day Clooney left with Alamuddin in a helicopter. This comes on the heels of reports the couple is looking for a house South of France. The "Gravity" actor reached out to real estate agents on the French Rivera hoping to find a home on the Mediterranean Sea.
"He is specifically shopping for a house on the beach," an insider told the site. "One agent has found a possible nest for Clooney just outside St-Tropez."
Clooney also plans to buy a place in London for Alamuddin, who will continue with her successful career at her law firm after their marriage.
"I guess he hopes the London gloom will be relieved by escapes to the Cote d'Azur," the source added.
