TLC was one of the biggest girl groups of the '90s, but they did not use their bodies to get there! Two remaining members Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins and Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas have some words of advice for Rihanna and her marketing strategies.
"Every time I see you you don't have to be naked," T-Boz told Channel 7's Sunrise.
"It's easy to sell sex," the pair added.
This comes after Riri donned a see-through Adam Selman gown for the 2014 CDFAs.
"It's hard for us to say anything because any time we do, they say, 'Oh TLC must be jealous', but I call a spade a spade," T-Boz explained.
"We became the biggest girl selling group of all time with our clothes on and that says a lot," Chili agreed. "We could go around too with booby cakes [breasts] out all day long."
TLC will play a sold-out gig tonight in Sydney as part of their Australian national tour. They lost third member Lisa "Lefteye" Lopez in 2002 when she was killed in a car crash.
"The three of us had chemistry, now it's two and we have crazy chemistry. The fans also keep us going because they love us so much," the two stated.
The group split after that and reunited in 2009 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of hit "Waterfalls."
"TLC is my favorite girl group, even though I'm in the group. I love our group. I love what we stand for," Chilli said.
"The blessing out of all of this is that we are able to sustain and that's the hard thing to do in this business is to have longevity," she continued. "It's almost 22 years that we've been in the business."
