This is a shock! FX hit series "Sons of Anarchy" cast Marilyn Manson as a recurring character in its seventh and final season. We knew he was contributing music to the upcoming season, and would potentially make an appearance. The singer will play Ron Tully, a white supremacist Jax meets in prison and uses to up his power base.
"Sons of Anarchy" is about an outlaw motorcycle gang in California's Central Valley. It follows the group's vice president Jackson "Jax" Teller, played by Charlie Hunnam.
Manson was determined to get involved with the series to make his father proud.
"'Sons' has been such a big part of my life, as well as my father's," Manson told Variety. "So I was determined to make him proud by being involved in what will probably be remembered as the most amazing piece of television cinema. After all, the very heart of 'SOA' is about that relationship. So, now all I need is a motorcycle."
The news comes two weeks after Manson lost his mother, Barbara, passed away at 68 from dementia. He posted a powerful tribute on his Facebook page.
I hope I see you again someday," Manson wrote. "But not now, because I have more things I promised I would do. I'll make you proud and satisfied that you know you made the son you wanted."
In the past Manson starred in movies "Jawbreaker," "Lost Highway," and "Party Monster." He made guest appearances on "Once Upon a Time" and "The Shadow" last year.
Manson is best known for his '90s hits such as "Antichrist Superstar" and "Mechanical Animals." He was deemed controversial and negative influence to young people, but landed in the Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists at number 44. Impressive!
The final season of "Sons" premieres this fall.
