Cody Simpson recently graduated from his Atlanta, Georgia, high school and as valedictorian he told his fellow graduates, "Intelligence is the sexiest thing in the entire world."

According to People, the 17-year-old didn't stop there when it came to talking about brains. The "Surfboard" artist talked about dating and his romance with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, 19.

The Australian native revealed that he actually has a type of woman that he goes for. He explained, "I'm a big fan when a girl is smarter than you," adding, "That's why I've been with older girls, 'cause I like intelligence."

Cody Simpson revealed that right now he needs to focus on his career which meant breaking up with the daughter of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Yolanda Foster, Gigi Hadid.

Despite the split he doesn't believe that he and Hadid are over for good. He admitted, "I definitely don't imagine it being over for good," adding, "We're still really good friends and we chat. We just had to slow it down."

Simpson revealed that despite his hectic work schedule he is all about getting a good education. He told the magazine, "I had a teacher that traveled with me. I never took summers off, and I literally powered through [my schoolwork]."

Kylie Jenner's ex-boyfriend continued, "I focused a lot on economics. I wanted to be in control of my business as well as my music."

The Instagram lover revealed that has definitely found some benefits while studying English and literature.

He confessed, "Reading really helps me with my songwriting," adding, "I do a lot of vocab-widening to improve in interviews."

However, when it comes to flirting with women, Cody Simpson revealed that there is an art to getting a girl.

The former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant revealed, "I have never really used a pick-up line."

He said, "An intelligent way to use pick-up lines is don't use pick-up lines. The best way is through handling a situation with confidence - hint at a girl but not be too forward."
