Emma Watson was armed and fabulous at her graduation from Brown University...sort of. Among 2,000 graduates receiving degrees from the university, Watson completed her English literature studies after six years. She was joined by an undercover armed police guard to confirm she would be safe.
The "Harry Potter" actress was also accompanied by her mother Jacqueline Luesby. She sat in the crowd with her fellow graduating class and cheered them on as they crossed the stage. Could you imagine going to school with someone so famous?
Watson started college in 2009 and like most freshman, had to adjust. She opened up about what she did to blend in and live a normal college life.
"On the first day, I walked into the canteen and everyone went completely silent and turned to look at me," she explained. "I had to say to myself, 'It's okay, you can do this. You just have to take a deep breath and gather your courage."'
"I've never even been asked for an autograph on campus," she told Us Weekly. "I threw a party for nearly 100 students and not a single person put a photo on Facebook."
Watson is best known for playing Harmonie Granger in the "Harry Potter" movies and also stars in "The Perks of Being A Wallflower" and "This Is The End." She was recently seen in biblical flick "Noah."
In 2009 she was also named the Guinness Book of World Record's highest grossing actress of the decade.
She tweeted a picture with the caption "!" in her cap and gown on her big day.
