Despite great success with movies like "Divergent it looks like Theo James' cast girlfriend Shailene Woodley is homeless, by choice.

During a Thursday appearance on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" the actress explained her current living situation.

According to E! News, the 22-year-old explained why she made the choice to give up her house. The host told the starlet, "I think you're a very interesting person," referring to his amazement that she can fit all of her possessions into just one suitcase.

Woodley corrected Kimmel and said, "Almost everything," adding, "I have some kitchen items that my grandma is using. But other than that, yeah, everything that I own and use is in a carry-on suitcase. I figure if I only own a few things and it gets lost, then I would get nothing."

The funny man said, "That takes an unbelievable amount of self-control."

"The Fault in Our Stars" actress admitted that packing up her life into a suit case was surprisingly easy. She revealed, "I was only home for 15 days last year and I got home and I was like, 'I don't want to be alone. I want to be with my friends and family.'"

The brunette who recently added blonde to her mane went on to say, "So, I got rid of everything just so I could have one suitcase that would be easy to transport between houses and just kind of couch surf for a few months.

"But it's so refreshing and it takes so much stress away when you're like, 'Ugh, I only have one pair of jeans to wash.' It's so nice."

Shailene Woodley confessed that she "used to" have a home in Los Angeles but gave it to her grandmother. The young starlet revealed that at the moment she is staying "Literally on friends' couches."

She added, "I was only here in L.A. for two months, so when you're home you kind of want to soak up faces and places...And then I leave again."

Although she prefers to go without technology she was forced to cave and admitted that she has a laptop and recently acquired a cell phone.

Woodley explained, "I do have a phone right now because we've been doing so much press and they were like, 'Shai, we need to be able to get a hold of you, so here's a temporary phone and we've taped the number to the back of it so you won't forget it,'" adding, "It's kind of hilarious."
