Justin Timberlake has become an immensely popular artist, despite his major success as a solo artist releasing his debut solo album "Justified" in 2002, many fans are still heartbroken over his choice to leave his group 'N Sync at the height of the group's popularity.

According to E! News, the "Not a Bad Thing" singer decided to open up during Sunday's season premiere of Oprah's "Master Class" on OWN about the group's break up.

The 33-year-old explained, "I would wake up every morning feeling this more and more of an urge to step out on my own." The multi-talented star revealed that he wanted to "try my own hand as a musician, just by myself."

At the mere age of 21-years-old, Justin Timberlake chose to leave 'N Sync even though everyone around him warned him not to split from the boy band.

Apparently everyone was thinking: 'Why wouldn't you ride this out? You're the biggest group in the world. Why would you walk away from this'"?

However, Jessica Biel's husband had his mind set to leave. Timberlake confessed, "It's one of the best/worst things that I have ever done," adding, "It was bittersweet. It was hard to say goodbye to that era, but I felt it changing. I felt music changing. And I felt myself changing."

His debut album "Justified" went on to win two Grammy Awards and by the time he released his second solo album, "FutureSex/LoveSounds," in 2006, Justin Timberlake had established himself as a solo artist and actor.

"The 20/20 Experience" artist told Oprah that despite the track's major success he had to fight to make "SexyBack" his first single.

The "Mirrors" artist explained, "I had to convince people that 'SexyBack' was my song," adding, "They didn't even think it was me, people thought it was a joke."

He added, "I believed in it and I believed in what it made other people do. You learn to trust your gut. I only have my instinct, which is a powerful thing."
