Katherine Heigl is gearing up for her small screen return. On Monday she attended NBC Upfronts promoting her new drama "State of Affairs."
The event is held for advertisers to buy air time, and the former "Grey's Anatomy" actress was hamming it up on the red carpet. Heigl rocked a wool pink frock complimented by a brown leather jacket and black boots. Her hair was swept to one side with curls, and her face was accented by rose lipstick.
The "Knocked Up" star plays CIA analyst Charleston Tucker in "State of Affairs." The Daily Mail says her character prioritizes international crises facing America.
Heigl famously left "Grey's Anatomy" in an abrupt manner, as she wanted to pursue film. Yet the star claims it was because she wanted to focus on family.
"You could understand why she wanted to go," her co-star Ellen Pompeo said. "When you're offered $12 million a movie and you're only 26. But Katie's problem is that she should not have renewed her contract."
Her colleagues at the time were not thrilled with her sudden departure.
"I started a family and it changed everything for me," Heigl told Entertainment Weekly, after she adopted her daughter Naleigh. "It changed my desire to work full-time."
The actress and her mother work as Executive Producers on the upcoming NBC series. The Hollywood Reporter previously said the duo is challenging to work with.
"I have never experienced anything like Nancy Heigl," a source told the publication. "It's about the mouth.'F**k you. You are a f***ing liar ... Whatever you'd say, you were an idiot."
Another source added the actress "can cost you time every single day of shooting."
"Wardrobe issues, not getting out of the trailer, questioning the script every single day."
We hope the Heigls were easier to work with on set this time around! Will you watch "State of Affairs?" Sound off below!
