This week we honor classic beauty, Naomi Campbell.
It can be said without pretty much without a doubt, that this iconic supermodel is not only a one-of-a-kind stunner, but also one of the best ever to walk a runway.
Discovered as a teenager, Campbell's career quickly took off and launched her into worldwide notoriety. From the cover of major fashion magazines, ad campaigns, music videos, and dozens of runways, Naomi was and continues to be everywhere. The model is also considered a trailblazer as a woman of color in the fashion industry who battled discrimination and helped redefine the fashion industry's notion of beauty.
This fashion icon was quoted once as saying, "I don't think I was born beautiful. I just think I was born me." The same can be true for the star's beauty philosophies, which she openly shared in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.
Working as a model for over twenty years, Naomi clearly has some pretty good beauty secrets up her couture sleeve. When it comes to skin care, Campbell has revealed that she swears by steams, facials, and "everything I can to keep my skin elasticated."
With not a wrinkle to be found, it is likely Naomi's carefree attitude about growing older that has kept her looking 43 years young. When asked about going under the knife for cosmetic procedure and plastic surgeries, the model is all for people who decide to undergo a nip or tuck or two "for those who do it for themselves and not to please someone else."
But age clearly isn't an issue for Naomi. "I don't worry about a number. I'm fine with aging."
Despite her legendary status, Campbell takes it all in stride and doesn't take the word 'supermodel' seriously. "But I would never call myself that," she says, laughing. "I don't have any superhuman powers. I still love what I do. It's a new challenge to see how people can change your look. I like words like transformation, reinvention, and chameleon. Because one word I don't like is predictable."
