Have you heard of Hammer & Nails, the only men's nail shop in the nation? A guys salon was a revolutionary business idea when they opened just a few months ago, and now Hammer & Nails is pushing the envelope even further!
The unique venue began after owner Michael Elliot began servicing NFL and NBA players. Targeting celebrities, athletes, and businessmen, Hammer & Nails continues to change the idea of masculinity and beauty.
"A large part of our clientele consists of athletes, and we've custom designed a new treatment specifically for guys who need to bring their A-game with healthy hands and feet," said Elliot. "We've hosted NFL and NBA players in our shop, so we're acutely aware of the hygiene needs and preferences of active men in this town."
Elliot, opened the flagship Hammer & Nails in Hollywood in November 2013. His shop offers men an attractive alternative to visiting female-centric nail salons, which can often be awkward, embarrassing and uncomfortable.
Designed to ease sore muscles of athletic and active men, the Sports Pedicure features hot stones, Hammer & Nails Signature Scrub, foot and leg massage, reflexology, and a hydrating mint clay mask, which stimulates blood circulation. It also includes nail trimming and shaping, cuticle oil and grooming, moisturizing, hot towel wrap, and paraffin treatment.
"Unlike most women, not all men want a trip to the nail shop to be an ordeal that takes up an afternoon," Elliot explained. "After listening to requests from loyal clients who want to stop by and receive a quick treatment before a big meeting, we've designed the "Express MANicure/Pedicure."
"In addition to being the first nail shop for guys, Hammer & Nails sets itself apart by promoting health and wellness," Elliot told us. "Active guys or men who work with their hands have a particularly tough time keeping their extremities healthy. The Warm Oil MANicure and Aromatherapy Pedicure allow us to nourish and relax overworked hands and feet."
The perfect man-cave of beauty, Hammer & Nails features custom-designed treatments paired with personal flat-screen TVs and headphones, premium sports channels, and complimentary beers and scotch. Decorated with oversized leather chairs, the front-end of a classic Chevy pickup truck and a leather punching bag and gloves from the 1940's, Elliot has spared no cost to create a relaxing escape for men in Los Angeles. He plans to open Hammer & Nails shops throughout the nation in the near future.
