Zoë Saldana and Sam Worthington have officially reprised their roles as Neytiri and Jake Sully respectively for the next three "Avatar" movies with director James Cameron set to film the sequels back-to-back-to-back.

According to E! News, the second "Avatar" film is supposed to hit theaters December 2016 with the third set to follow in December 2017 and the fourth in December 2018.

With the main characters confirmed for the films, Cameron praised his talented cast. He said, "Jake Sully is a rare combination of passion, strength, street smarts and soul, which requires a lot from an actor. Sam brought to the role a combination of sensitivity, vulnerability and strength."

He added, "Zoe captured every aspect of the character I envisioned, bringing to Neytiri a mix of delicacy, fierceness and incredible physicality. I am beyond pleased they'll be returning with us to Pandora."

Stephen Lang, who played Marine Colonel Quaritch in the 2009 blockbuster was actually the first cast member to sign on to the next installment of the franchise which is surprising considering  his character died in the first film.

Before appearing in the next "Avatar" film Saldana, 35, will star in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy." The recently married actress was also cast in NBC's "Rosemary's Baby" miniseries.

Meanwhile, Worthington, 37, will be in the action movie "Sabotage" alongside Terrence Howard, Joe Manganiello and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

James Cameron will direct and produce the highly anticipated "Avatar" movies with his production partner Jon Landau.

The brilliant director hired a team of screenwriters consisting of "War of the World's" Josh Friedman, "Rise of the Planet of the Apes'" Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and "Savages'" Shane Salerno for the franchise of movies.

"Avatar" is the highest-grossing film of all time at the box office. Do you think the sequels will be as successful?
