Sofia Vergara has made a shocking beauty confession! The "Modern Family" star recently told the world that she dyed her hair dark to get Hollywood roles.
Is it hard to believe that Sofia would have had to result to such drastic measures to become a star? Known for her curvaceous body and amble assets, the beauty has won many fans and accolades, including becoming the face of Head and Shoulders in November. But the 41-year-old funny actress dished to Glam Belleza Latina about having changed her naturally blonde hair to brunette in order to make it in Tinseltown.
"When I first got to Hollywood, I wasn't getting roles because I didn't look, according to many casting directors and producers, 'Latina enough,'" explained the Columbian stunner for the publication's winter issue. "The reality is Latinos come in all colors, heights, and flavors, but who was I to preach this stuff when I needed a job? My team and I decided to darken my hair to make it more in tune with my accent, and it worked."
Sofia admitted casting directors didn't think her God-given light strands matched her Hispanic accent. Though the starlet changed the color to achieve success, she recognizes her natural beauty, and what makes Latinas sexy in their own right.
"I see it more like an attitude," said the star of the hit ABC comedy. "The glam and sexiness of Latinas live in the fact that most of us take great care of ourselves; we make our hair beautiful; we love perfume; we can wear high heels without complaining. I remember my mother and aunts always wearing makeup and looking beautiful even if it was just to drop us off at school."
Sofia had returned back to her childhood roots in March, debuting lighter locks. And she's very happy about the transformation. "Now that my hair is closer to its original color, I feel great," added Sofia. "I don't have to darken my roots all the time!"
The starlet, who shows off her stunning beauty, long lashes and gorgeous red lips on Glam's cover, knows who she is. What do you think about Sofia's hair color change early in her career? Tell us your thoughts on the actress' comments with a note below!
