One Direction recently visited the set of "Sesame Street" to hang out with Big Bird in New York City. The "Story of My Life" singers also hit the town and performed new songs from their album, "Midnight Madness."

According to Celebrity Teen Scoop, the British boy band members filmed their appearance for the 45th season of the long-running children's program on Monday.

Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson's bandmate took a break from traveling the world to stop by to see the popular PBS show characters. Their fans, who will have to wait until next fall to see the episode, also got a very special treat from the boys. 

While in the Big Apple, the guys also brought down the house at "Saturday Night Live." But though they had fun on stage, the crooners also had a blast off stage.

Styles hit up a bar and explored the city's famous nightlife, too, reported Celebrity Teen Scoop. 

And recently, a new funny picture of Horan went viral. Cameras had caught the blonde cutie kissing his own life-size, look-alike wax figure when the guys stopped by Madame Tussauds Museum earlier this year. The photo just now surfaced on the web.  

The guys were all smiles while during their trips in NYC.
