Drew Barrymore's FLOWER Beauty just won the "Newcomer of the Year: Mass" Award at the 2013 Beauty Inc Awards in New York City!
The cosmetic brand's co-creators, Maesa and Drew accepted the honor from Beauty Inc, a Women's Wear Daily special-issue magazine. The "Newcomer of the Year: Mass" accolade - one of the most notable industry achievements - recognized FLOWER for resonating with retailers and consumers alike. Their makeup line, exclusively at Wal-Mart, was promoted by using a "revolutionary business model." To the company's credit as well, the awards program considers the label's products and packaging to be at the same level as prestigious brands.
Drew gladly took home the prize and takes pride in FLOWER, which launched this year. "Thank you to WWD Beauty Inc for awarding FLOWER Beauty," said the pregnant actress in a PR Newswire press release. "I am so proud to accept this in celebration of women, including my daughter and my future daughter."
FLOWER puts all of its money into the formulations and packaging, and not into advertising. By following this model, the brand has saved revenue, and introduced premium, high-quality makeup at an affordable price. The company's portfolio consists of more than 190 eye, face, lip and nail products ranging from $4.98 to $13.98. FLOWER's items are also available in more than 1,500 Walmart stores and on Walmart.com.
Petra Tucker-Moss, Senior Director of Product Development & Marketing for Maesa, is also happy with the brand's success.
"We are truly honored to be recognized for our exclusive beauty line FLOWER with the Newcomer of the Year Award," said Petra. "Drew's passion and knowledge of premium cosmetics combined with the beauty engineering expertise of our team at Maesa has truly allowed us to develop a makeup line that delivers on its promise of bringing premium quality make-up to mass."
Beauty Inc will recognize the popular beauty brand for winning the award in their December issue.
