Miranda Kerr is caught in controversy over modeling uniforms for an Australian airline. The Instagram-loving supermodel and beauty is attracting cricticism for wearing colorful workplace outfits for Qantas, whose employees want the uniforms changed.
According to Vogue, the stunner, who had recently split from husband Orlando Bloom, unveiled the clothes earlier this year.
But staff members are crticizing the tight-fitting uniforms, which were designed by Martin Grant. The Australian cat walker had strutted her stuff in the outfits at a promotional event in April.
"The uniforms are really tight and they are simply not practical for the very physical job we have to do," said one domestic short-haul flight attendant."
But the employees acknowledged that the uniforms did frame the selfie-loving brunette's figure well.
"The uniform looks fantastic on Miranda Kerr, but unfortunately we don't all look like her," said another staff member. "Hosties range in age from their twenties to their sixties and a lot of the older ones don't want to wear tight-fitting uniforms. We like the current Peter Morrissey-designed uniforms. They are really comfortable."
Kerr became an ambassador for the Australian airline in January. Union members from the Flight Attendants Association of Australia National Division have been contacted over the uniforms, which will be worn by staff starting next month, reported Vogue.
"We have asked the airline to tweak the uniform a little to accommodate some concerns," said a union spokeswoman to the Australian news site, News.com.au. "Once it comes in and the crew are wearing it, we will be having more discussions. If there are more issues, obviously we would expect the company to iron them out."
