Lorde, the "Royals" singer, recently may have dissed Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez in a new interview. The Aussie singer said the ex-Disney stars are "mental" and that she's different.
According to GQ's The Q blog, the 16-year-old singer, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Conner, is a "far cry" from the former Disney child stars-turned-singers.
"The difference between those kids and me," said Lorde, "is that I grew up completely normally and went to parties and had that experience. I am way less inclined to be like, 'Look! I'm fucking mental!'
In an America where people are used to envelope-pushing pop queens and kings, the opinionated performer sets herself apart from them. She brings something completely different to the table than her counterparts, described the men's magazine.
"While we are certainly used to teen pop stars conquering America, Lorde is another thing altogether," wrote Jessica Hopper in the blog post. "Adults needn't be ashamed of putting her full-length album, Pure Heroine, on repeat; there's nothing guilty about this pleasure."
Lorde wasn't afraid to even drop F-bombs when talking about Liam Hemsworth and Justin Bieber's respective exes.
And this isn't the first time that the Aussie songstress may have taken a dig at the former Disney darlings. Gomez had brushed off Lorde's negative comments about her hit song, "Come and Get It" earlier this year.
Though it looks like the songbird isn't fans of the former Disney kids, she has achieved international success like them.
