Miley Cyrus is now single after her split from Liam Hemsworth, resulting from the "23" singer having reportedly threatened him to stay with her. A pregnancy scare caused the twosome to stay together for several months before their break up.
According to a new OK! Magazine report, Cyrus, 20, kept the reportedly difficult relationship going for months with Chris Hemsworth's brother, 23, because she feared she was pregnant.
Hollywood Life believed the report suggested the former couple felt obligated to stay together in the last few months before their dramatic split. The pair were having tremendous problems that would have ended their relationship sooner if it were not for the reported scare.
"Many thought she [Cyrus] was expecting and wanted to announce it to the world, even before she went to the doctor to vertify the results," a friend told OK! "Liam begged her not to go public yet."
It seems that the "Wrecking Ball" singer and the "Hunger Games:Catching Fire" star, who is now reportedly dating Eiza Gonzalez, had been estranged from each other for a long time.
"He was emotionally out of the romance for months at that point, though he was still sleeping with her," the friend continued. "She agreed to stay quiet for Liam's sake."
The report claims that the "We Can't Stop" performer trapped Hemsworth with a threat, which was that she would tell the world that he left her while she was supposedly carrying his child.
"She [Miley] begged him to stay and said that he could have his space, as long as he didn't break up with her," the friend explained to OK! "So Liam felt obligated. He got his freedom and she got the right to say they were engaged."
Reportedly, Cyrus later learned the positive pregnancy test was a false alarm, claimed OK!
