DeAndre Cortez Way, better known as 'Crank That' rapper Soulja Boy, was kicked off an American Airlines flight on Sunday for refusing to sit down during pre flight announcements. The "Versace" performer later used Twitter so sound off to his fans.
Despite being asked a number of times to sit down during the usual pre-flight safety announcements, Soulja Boy refused to do so.
Eventually, the 23 year old realized that the officers were serious, and after a quick chat he took he got off the plane and took his two carry-ons with him.
The star was on his way from Miami, Florida, to a weekend performance in Brazil, according to The Daily Mail.
The incident was semi-reminicint of the the one Alec Baldwin had with American Airlines back in 2011, when he infamously refused to stop playing Words with Friends, and was subsequently kicked off the flight. Baldwin then went on a Twitter rant, which Soulja Boy did not do. Instead, the rapper did point out his airline of choice is Virgin America. He tweeted at the company and got a response:
@VirginAmerica best airlines

He also issued an apology when talking with TMZ.
"It was a bad night and me and the flight staff didn't see eye to eye. In hindsight, I'm extremely sorry for all inconvenience caused to the passengers and employees of the airline."
He could have taken the trip in his own $55 million private jet that he said he bought in 2011 for his 21st birthday, but his rep denied that he actually ever bought the plane to begin with.
