Adele has proved her talents as a singer with hits such has "Someone Like You" and "Rumor Has It," but now there is news that the artist may start her acting debut in a film called "The Secret Service." She previously recorded the original song for James Bond flick "Skyfall."
The singer is in talks to make her acting debut as a villian in an upcoming spy thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Firth, according to UPI.com.
"The Secret Service" is based on a graphic novel by "Kick-Ass" creator Mark Millar, and is supposed to be directed later this year by Matthew Vaughn ("Layer Cake" and "X-Men: First Class").
"Adele is exactly what Matthew is looking for," a source told The Sun on Sunday, in response to rumors claiming the recording artist is up for the villain role in the film. "He wants the highest-profile names in various fields to boost the film's cause and turn it into a mega-money franchise."
"You can't get much bigger than Adele in music, which is why he's so keen to get her involved. She'll be great value on the big screen," the source added.
"Becks was asked by Colin Firth if he'd like to be in the movie but he is yet to fully commit," the source explained, according to contactmusic.com. "He loves movies and fancies appearing on the big screen - but just as a one-off, not a full-time career."
Adele, 25, did have a cameo in 2009 on "Ugly Betty."
