Marble manis are back!
Now this style has been around for years, but it seems to be on the edge of a lot of fingertips lately. Click through the slideshow to check out a few of our favorites.
The marble manicure is always a great nail design option. It takes any polish up a notch, adding beautiful detail that's unique to each and every finger.
Now there are quite a few ways to achieve marble nails, but it's summer time and who has the willpower to stay inside doing their nails all day? So here are 2 easy ways to try this trend without the hassle.
First, pick a couple of your favorite shades! How daring are your color combos? Are you a two-tone, triple hue, or multi-colored kind of gal? No matter what you decide, have fun and keep your shades on trend for the season. For summer, go bright or go home!
Now choose your marbling technique. You can achieve some of the cool designs shown above with either a simple toothpick, or using Saran wrap.
Toothpick Marbling. After you apply your first color (and do it rather thickly), don't wait until the polish had dried. Begin to apply the additional colors. If you want a striped marble effect, paint your stripes on now using a needle, toothpick, or sharp tool. If you want the kaleidoscopic, psychedelic effect, use the same tools to lightly dot on your complementary colors.
Now while nails are still wet, take a toothpick and swirl the colors around as little, or as much as you want. For marble stripes, uniformly drag your toothpick through the colors in the opposite direction you drew your stripes on.
Saran Wrap Marbling. Same goes for this effect too, but instead of a toothpick, take a crinkled piece of plastic wrap and lightly dab it over the wet nail polish. For a swirly effect, turn the plastic wrap while dabbing it into the color.
Apply your topcoat and you're done. Pretty cool huh! What do you think of nail marble art? Check out the quick tutorial below and leave a note in the comments section.
