Following news of Shailene Woodley's dismissal from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" last week, actress Sarah Godon has signed on in an unnamed role.
According to the Huffington Post, the "Cosmopolis" actress announced on "Entertainment Tonight Canada" that she has joined the cast. But she will not be replacing Woodley in the role of Mary Jane Watson despite rumors.
Godon cleared up the confusion on Twitter.
To all those a twitter, I will not be playing MJ in Spider-Man. I have a role in the film, but it is not that one :)

The Watson character has been placed on hold until the next and third installment in the franchise, said Marc Webb to Deadline.com.
But as far as what character that Godon, who previously starred in David Cronenberg's "A Dangerous Method" and "Dream House," will play is currently unknown, but some people have made guesses.
According to Cimena Blend, Godon will only be in the movie "briefly" as the sequel's newest addition. They guess she will play Betty Brant, the secretary to J. Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bulge, where Peter Parker a.k.a Spiderman could land a job.
But the Canadian actress joins a stellar cast of actors including Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Martin Sheen and Chris Cooper. The film is slated for a May 2, 2014 release.
