Most of our fashion influences come from the leggy models that strut down today's catwalks, but we can look to them for makeup pointers as well.
This summer's trend is going totally natural, meaning no caked-on makeup or extras on your face except for a touch of shimmer, according to Runway Magazine. All the fashion houses from Isabel Marant to Chloe, and model Gisele Bundchen are embracing this trend.
Rocking a basic face gives a "smooth, glossy effect" that plays well to cameras and onlookers.
Another trend has popped up on the stunners walking fiercely down Diane Von Furstenberg to Yves Saint Laurent runways. Those models wear eye-catching lipstick, which Runway said should look perfect and be "expertly drawn on" with as "little overspill as possible."
Bright colors work well though many prefer darker hues like red. If you're looking for a leader to follow, Gucci is the prime example, with models sporting ultra shiny and luscious lips.
As far as the desirable smoky eye, it lends itself to a "dark and romantic" look like on the models on Chanel or Valentino's catwalks. To open up your eyes, go with color eyeshadow like brown, yellow or even silver.
Runway's favorite "look of the moment" is warm and daring tones, meaning an intense look where your cheeks' color matches eyes. They advise us to dabble in a diverse color palette including pink, yellow, orange, green and blue to stand out in the crowd.
