The furious tornado that twisted down in Oklahoma City on Monday afternoon took the lives of 24 people, injured 240 and caused massive destruction in the form of crushed schools, flattened cars and demolished homes, according to the Associated Press.

As of Wednesday, rescuers are continuing to wade through the debris-clogged streets in an effort to find any remaining survivors trapped underneath rubble, and the Oklahoma Emergency Management is also focused on cleaning up the area on the way to recovery.

And many celebs are reacting to the "deadliest tornado to strike the U.S. in two years" including Alicia Keys. The "Girl on Fire" singer tweeted, "So much going on in the world...I'm saddened by the devastating news...my thoughts and prayers were with all those affected #PrayForOklahoma," on May 20.

Kerry Washington also took to Twitter to ask people to donate to the relief effort today.

And Oklahoma native Blake Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert honored the victims during a touching tribute performance on NBC's "The Voice" on Tuesday, urging fans to donate to the Red Cross, according to People Magazine.
