Following the announcement of Rihanna's partnership with M.A.C. Cosmetics back in February on her 25th birthday, the pop diva took to Instagram today to share a preview of her first product innovation: RiRi Woo.
A long time lover of M.A.C. Cosmetics, Rihanna explained the goal for her first product was to create her version of the classic M.A.C. Ruby Woo lipstick shade. Beloved by women of all skintones, Ruby Woo is a universal shade of rich, vibrant red that looks great on everyone. Rihanna used Ruby Woo, her favorite lipstick, as the benchmark for creating her very own. "Working with MAC, it's difficult to get a red lipstick that beats Ruby Woo, because it works on every skin tone," Rihanna said. "I had so many different samples to choose from and so many different colors underneath - blue, yellow, orange and pink bases. And I got to pick one that worked, and I tried it on all my friends to make sure it worked on all of our skin tones," Rihanna explained.
With Ruby Woo one of the most popular cult red matte lipsticks, Rihanna's RiRi Woo has some pretty big lips to fill. Following her post of the RiRi Woo on Instagram, the photo was quickly met with over 200,000 likes. This surely should bode well for sales when RiRi Woo makes it debut in May. RiRi will then release summer, fall, and holiday collections later this year. The holiday collection is said to include the largest array of products, consisting of makeup bags, lipsticks, nail polish and more.
