The "Harlem Shake" dance craze seems to be spreading far and wide and now the bug has bitten even the models of Sports Illustrated magazine. Kate Upton and Chrissy Teigen have made their own video of the "Harlem Shake" while they were in Las Vegas to celebrate the 50th edition of the magazine's Swimsuit issue at Marquee Nightclub, according to E!Online.
In the video, Upton and Teigen are seen dressed in jerseys representing schools from National Collegiate Athletic Association and letting their hair down. Dancing to the famous number, they are joined by various other SI models.
The "Harlem Shake" video was first released by blogger Filthy Frank in which he dances to the beats of music producer Baauer, along with his friends wearing pink leotard costume. The craze caught on when five teenagers from Australia released their version of the dance encouraging people to do the same.
The popularity of the video surged in hours and has already received about 2 million hits on YouTube threatening to displace Psy's "Gangnam Style."
And this is pleasing the Australian teenagers no end of course. "I think it's pretty crazy, I didn't think anyone would care at all," Corey Walsh, one of the dancers on the video told Courier Mail. "Some of the groups like the US army doing it, it's pretty crazy the way it's taken off. I reckon it could be (copied like Gangnam style) if it kept going how it is. I don't know if the song would be as big but maybe the dancing might."
Since then even the crew of Today's Show, Al Roker, Natalie Morales, Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie displayed their dancing skills during the show.
