Celebrity couple Rihanna and Chris Brown's relationship might be on the rocks as the duo was spotted ignoring each other during the first anniversary event at the Playhouse Nightclub LA, Feb. 13. RiRi also declined the host's offer of a seat next to Brown. Has the controversial couple broken up already or is this another way of keeping fans guessing?
The couple might not have come out in the open about the status of their relationship but everyone present in the club noticed the aloofness.
"Rihanna didn't know that Chris was expected at the same event," a source told the Daily Mail. "When VIP hosts asked the Barbadian pop star if she would like to be seated with her boyfriend, she declined and demanded to be put somewhere else."
The "Umbrella" hit maker and Brown not only arrived at the venue separately but didn't leave together either. While Brown was seen behind the wheel of his Lamborghini leaving with friends, RiRi left much later.
The couple seems to have taken a u-turn after displaying their love for each other at the Grammy awards where they were seen posing for photographs together. The 24-year-old singing star hadn't been able to wipe the smile off her face. She was also seen wearing a diamond ring and made no efforts to hide the sparkler.
Rihanna and Brown, who are famous for posting pictures of them getting cozy on social media sites like Twitter and Instagram, maintained a relatively low profile even on Valentine's day.
Instead of posting love messages to the 23-year-old rapper on the day of love, Rihanna took to Twitter to proclaim her love for weed.
"Love me...I'm #DOPE," she tweeted along with a link to an image that says, "Mary Jane will be my Valentine!"
If the couple has really broken up, RiRi will probably be able to reach out to singer Katy Perry, who has been staying out of the pop star's life since she got back with Brown. Perry isn't exactly pleased with the reconciliation.
