Stylist Nicola Formichetti has revealed that dressing reality star Kim Kardashian for the recent Elle magazine shoot was a hard task as none of the designers wanted her to wear their designs.
Calling it "a challenge," Formichetti said that all the designers he approached for the outfits refused to have their clothes worn by the 32-year-old. But the stylist designer, who is well known for creating Lady Gaga's wardrobe, finally managed some creations by industry's big names like Tom Ford and Roberto Cavalli.
"People wouldn't lend me the clothes," Yahoo quoted Formichetti. "But that's fashion snobbery."
Mocking the situation, blogger Perez Hilton even speculated about the reason behind the numerous designers' denial to let Kardashian wear their outfits. "Like Kanye, they probs didn't want her to damage their reputation in the fashion world," Hilton said.
Formichetti, however, later denied that they fell short of clothes for the pregnant reality star. "taken out of context again..Working with @kimkardashian was amazing we had more than enough options for @ellemagazine !!" he tweeted.
But when it's Kardashian, controversy seems to be complementary. And even the reality star seems to have acknowledged and accepted the fact. Unaffected by all the speculations doing the rounds, she seems perfectly happy in her world with boyfriend Kanye West and the baby on the way.
In fact she seemed extremely pleased with the Elle shoot. "Loved this shoot! You're a genius Nicola!" she tweeted.
"I love the way the pics turned out!!!" she later wrote on her blog. "I love being transformed and I love, like your, vision of who you think I am. That's always so inspiring to me and so interesting to see someone else's take on me."
