Showcasing her Autumn/Winter Collection at the New York Fashion Week, Feb. 10, former "Spice Girls" member Victoria Beckham made sure the audience took notice of her talent. Beckham floored fans with her elegant designs and unique blend of style and sophistication. How we wish she had started designing earlier.
Beckham’s collection, as always, strongly reflected her personal style and the ensembles were mostly in darker hues of black, navy and chocolate brown. But while the designer herself mostly opts for all-black, she added pops of striking colors like tangerine, neon yellow and electric blue to the designs.
Posh’s new collection features linear and carefully tailored dresses with turtle necks and figure hugging A-line skirts. Posh and high heels are almost synonymous but the designer this time took the audience by surprise as she paired the outfits with ankle boots with kitten heels.
Her dresses this season might have featured hemlines below the knees but still carried a sense of sex-appeal with thigh high slits and clinched waists.
The 38-year-old looked pleased after the show. “It’s a reflection of me being in London all the time,” Posh told Elle U.K. backstage. “I think you can see the influence there, with the heritage fabrics that we’ve used…. in a very modern, cool, sexy way.”
“Victoria has once again shown that she has developed as a designer breathing new life into her main collection,” the Daily Mail quoted Lauren Stevenson, PR director at My-wardrobe.com.
Supporting Posh was husband David Beckham who was seated in the front row with Vogue’s editor Anna Wintour. The style icon footballer was dressed in a black suit and attentively watched the show.
It wasn’t just Posh’s designs that caught our eye. Like last season, little Harper Beckham was seen trotting on the runway and whether a model in the making or not, the toddler sure is super stylish.
