French beauty Marion Cotillard narrowly missed a wardrobe malfunction during the BAFTA Awards in London, Feb. 10. Dressed in a canary dress by Dior, Cotillard accidently showed off her thighs as the dress' lower half slipped away revealing a sheer panel. But before much damage could be done, she pulled up the dress, reports Gossip Cop.
The off-shoulder dress revealed her toned shoulders and arms and she paired it with black skyscraper heels. Posing for the cameras, Cotillard sported bright red lips, hair tied up in a side bun and accessorized with a glittery Chopard necklace.
"Hunger Games" actress Jennifer Lawrence faced a similar situation during the SAG Awards. While the 22-year-old walked up to the stage to collect her award for Best Actress for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook" her dress ripped revealing a sheer panel through which her thighs could be seen. The actress quickly recovered from her shock, pulled up the dress and went on stage.
Lawrence later saw the video of her walking up to the stage and her dress slipping off and she seemed genuinely stunned.
Creator of the ensemble, Dior, however, said that the dress was supposed to be that way denying that it had ripped. The fashion house told the Associated Press that the gown by Raf Simons was made "with different levels of tulle and satin," and the sheer panel that the audience saw when Lawrence lifted the gown was just a part of the dress.
We wonder if the fashion house will deny that it was a malfunction and explain it away even this time because the "Rust and Bone" actress was visibly shocked when the dress slipped.
