Former cricket player Freddy Flintoff unveils his second collection of menswear for Jacamo. Freddy Flintoff started out as a star cricket player who played for Lancashire County Cricket Club, Chennai Super Kings and England. He was rated by the ICC (International Cricket Council) as being among the top international all-rounders in both ODI (One Day International) and Test cricket.
After Flintoff retired from cricket in 2010 he became a team captain for Sky1’s panel game A League of Their Own. He also became a commentator on several sports events including the 2012 World Matchplay. Flintoff then ventured into professional boxing where he made his debut last year fighting American boxer Richard Dawson. Flintoff won the match and now is launching his second line of menswear after becoming the brand ambassador for Jacamo in 2011.
Flintoff stated to MailOnline, “While my stuff isn’t depicting high fashion, it’s the sort of stuff I’d wear. I wear things that I feel comfortable in to be honest, I don't follow what’s in fashion or the latest trends I just like to go out feeling comfortable and my line reflects this”. Flintoff also stated to the Lancashire Evening Post, “When I’m busy I don’t want to have to spend ages worrying about outfits and what goes with what. It’s about clothes that are comfortable and look stylish. My new spring summer collection does exactly that.”
Alan White, Chief Executive of N Brown which owns Jacamo, stated that Flintoff “with his broad athletic build, will no doubt provide a strong point of identity for our customer base”.
The menswear will include polo shirts and formal wear with sizes that range from medium to 5XL. Flintoff by Jacamo will be on sale February 26 through their website www.jacamo.co.uk.
