Apparently, it's not just the ladies who are fond of knitting. Ryan Gosling recently admitted in an interview that his perfect day involves some knitting, as it helps him relax.
Gosling, who is gracing the cover of GQ Australia's February/March 2013 issue, told the magazine that he learned the art of knitting from a couple of old ladies.
The Gangster Squad actor said: "I did this scene in 'Lars and the Real Girl' where I was in a room full of old ladies who were knitting, and it was an all-day scene, so they showed me how. It was one of the most relaxing days of my life.
"If I had to design my perfect day, that would be it. And you get something out of it at the end. You get a nice present. For someone who wants an oddly shaped, off-putting scarf."
Interestingly, Gosling is not the only actor who has admitted his fondness for knitting. David Arquette learned the art of knitting from his mother and he has been featured on the cover of Celebrity Scarves 2. Comedian Will Forte too spends his free time fiddling with knitting needles.
Coming back to Gosling, TMZ recently revealed that the 32-year-old was almost a Backstreet Boy, but he rejected the offer to join the band in the 1990s.
Backstreet Boys band member AJ McLean said that he was close to Gosling during their childhood days as they lived in the same apartment building. However, when McLean offered Gosling a chance to join the band, the actor turned down the offer.
Reportedly, Gosling never believed the band would take off and soon a misunderstanding cropped up between the friends. But it seems the offer to join the band is still open. "If we ever want a sixth Backstreet Boy member I'm gonna call you. You can sing", McLean told TMZ.
