Oscar de la Renta Launches "Something Blue" third fragrance from the brand, targeting would be brides
The fashion designer known for dressing many famous women, especially Jacqueline Kennedy is now venturing into his third women's fragrance. The Oscar de la Renta label launched the fragrance "Something Blue," inspired by "Calvin Klein's Eternity," according to WWD.
"We wanted to go beyond bridal. We wanted it to be a lifestyle [fragrance]," Michele de Bourdon, Senior vice president of sales and marketing of fragrance. Alexander Bolen chimed in saying, "Bridal is such an important business for us' this is a natural," adding "What we want to do with our fragrance business - the way we want to stand out - is to tie back to our fashion. Oscar de la Renta styles are renown for wedding dresses.
The new "Something Blue," fragrance was created in collaboration with famous perfumer Frank Völkl of Firmenich with Ann Gottlieb. The new perfume entices the senses with linden blossom, mandarin and stephanotis.
The perfume is priced at $115 for 3.4 oz eau de parfum and $85 for 1.7 oz bottle. The cap of the bottle is created from a stone called "Larimar," found in de la Renta's home nation of Domnican Republic.
