Kate Middleton may wear a maternity dress designed by Sarah Burton to showcase her growing royal baby bump. Burton, the designer of the Duchess of Cambridge's royal wedding dress, says she hopes she will asked by the royal family to make Middleton pregnancy clothes.

On Thursday, Burton received an Order of the British Empire honor at Buckingham Palace for designing Middleton's lace white wedding dress, which the Duchess wore to marry Prince William. After receiving her honor, she said she was "very, very humbled" for the OBE from Prince Charles.

Asked if she would be the designing Kate Middleton's maternity dress and clothing, Burton replied, "I hope I will be."

Before becoming pregnant, Middleton has donned Burton's designs before. There was the lavendar evening dress, the nautical knit dress, the red dress worn at the Diamond Jubilee and the gorgeous wedding dress.

Burton has been designing for Alexander McQueen's label ever since his death. A maternity line inspired by Middleton's pregnant body would be an interesting contribution by Burton. We are thinking maternity dress with an empire waist made of stretchable and breathable material, yet modest and elegant enough to be shown in public.

Middleton has been fashion icon ever since her engagement to Prince William. Her fashion sense is notably classy yet she has chosen dress styles that can be bought by everyday women, thus strengthening her appeal.
