Australian Djs Michael Christian and Mel Greig, speak out about the now infamous prank call to Kate Middleton's hospital. In an interview with "A Current Affiar" the DJs apologize for their role in the suicide death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha.
The 2DayFM DJs appeared on Monday giving two interviews, stating they're shattered and heartbroken about the prank that caused nurse Jacintha's death, during their talk with "A Current Affair."
"We thought about making a call, (we thought) it was going to go for 30 seconds, we were going to be hung up on, and that was it. As innocent as that," said Michael Christian, adding "I feel shattered, gutted, heartbroken and obviously, you know.. Our deepest sympathies are with the family and the friends, no one could have imagined this to happen."
Michael and Mel Greig started the 2 Day FM show this past December, hosting the Hot30 Countdown a nationally syndicated program.
"We thought a hundred people before us would've tried it. We thought it was such a silly idea and conversation with any one at the hospital. We wanted to be hung up on," said Mel Greig, adding "There's not a minute that goes by where we don't think about her family and what they must be going through, and the thought that we may have played a part in that is gut-wrenching."
