Playboy expands brand into luxury, fashion and fine arts, partnering with Cushnie et Ochs and hiring Neville Wakefield as Special Project Creative Director.
Playboy partners with Cushnie et Ochs to design limited edition leather bra. The first designer luxury leather bra will be sold on the newly relaunched Playboystore. The Cushnie Playboy's leather bra is priced at $695.
"Playboy has always loved strong women and having Cushnie et Ochs, these amazing female designers, interpret our brand has produced something so decadent and beautiful," Kristin Patrick, Chief Marketing Officer of Playboy.
"Partnering with Playboy presented an opportunity for us to channel Cushnie et Ochs's seductive, feminine aesthetic with Playboy's signature playful sensuality," said Michelle Ochs in press release.
Playboy brand also announced Neville Wakefield as Creative Director for Special Projects. A move to re-energizing the brand with the fine art world and join creative collaborations. Neville is a writer and commentator on contemporary art, culture and photography. He has contributed to W magazine, The Journal, Artforum and advised for PS! MoMA and Frieze Art Fair.
"Playboy has a long history of associating with great talent and we continue that tradition today with Neville," said Playboy CEO Scott Flandersstated.
Recently, the brand partnered with dynamic "The Hole" gallery and Art Basel 2012 featuring a large-scale art exhibit by Parker Ito, with live performance by A$AP Rocky. The brand is expanding it's image to engaging new ambassadors and support new talent across art and fashion for the future.
