Katt Williams might be losing his witty charm following the Seattle tour. The comedian/actor was arrested in Seattle due to an altercation that took place at a bar and now not only plans to sue the city for $50 million for tarnishing his reputation but will also declare his official retirement.
In an interview with KOMO News, Williams said, "I'm just gonna go ahead and announce my retirement from standup, I'm kinda done. I've discussed it with my kids, I wasn't gonna do in the middle of a Seattle street, I was going to go to Los Angeles and do it in the offices of ICM or LiveNation."
abc News reports that Williams got into an argument with a patron at the bar, troubled the manager with a pool cue and refused to leave World Sports Grille, Sunday, Dec. 2. He was also accused of flicking a cigarette at a woman's face through a car window and throwing a rock at the vehicle.
He even assaulted the police when they arrested him for harassment, assault and obstruction.
The stand-up comedian was thrown out of his hotel, South Lake Union Marriot just hours after he was released from jail, Monday morning. Though the reason of him being asked to leave the hotel hasn't been disclosed, Williams confirmed to seattlepi.com that the news was correct. He also told the site that he had been thrown out of other three hotels since he arrived in town for a three-night show at the Paramount Theater. He is said to have had blood on his knuckles.
While Williams has a large fan base due to his classic sense of humor and wit, the incident is likely to affect his popularity. His own fans seem to be turning against him as they claim to have paid a high price for the tickets to his show but Williams is said to have performed for just 10 minutes before getting into a fight with three members of the audience.
