With the continuously growing beauty market,  the selection for cushion foundations online is also getting wider. However, with the influx of products out there, it also got a bit tougher, especially for makeup beginners to find the product and shade that will perfectly match them.  

However, there is a viral hack on TikTok made by the beauty influencer Jen (@l_yuhann) that is making it easier for aesthetes to get their suitable shade, saying goodbye to either too pink, too yellow, or grey foundation.

Here is a step-by-step tutorial to find the best foundation shade even when buying online:

Step #1: Find a brand with a wide shade range 

"First, you need to find a foundation with a wide shade range with both colors and tones," said Jen. 

The influencer then recommended the Korean beauty brand Unleashia, which currently offers 21 shades from fair light to deep skin tone. 

Step #2: Take a photo under natural lighting

The next step will be taking a photo of one's bare face under natural lighting for a more accurate result. 

Step #3: Use a photo editor to get your skin color 

Take the photo and use a photo editor to determine the color of the shopper's face. If using an iPhone, simply click, "Edit," >> click the "color palette" below >> select the color in the part of the face without redness or hyperpigmentation >>and click "Save."

Step #4: Compare the shade range to the saved color 

Take a photo of the shade swatches provided by the brand Unleashia and using the editor's pen with the saved color, draw a line passing all the available shades. 

Step #5: Pick the shade closest to the saved color 

Using self-judgment, pick the shade that matches the saved color the closest.  

"With this trick, you can see very clearly if you're warm or cool tone," added Yuhan.

She also lauded Unleashia's cushion which has a semi-matte satin finish infused with skincare-like ingredients and SPF needed for daily protection.
