On January 1st, Swiss socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein (79) passed away due to a pulmonary embolism. This happens when a blood clot forms in the lungs and causes a blockage resulting in issues with blood flow and oxygen levels in the lungs.
She left the world at a luxury hotel in Paris, which was confirmed by her partner Lloyd Klein (57), a Canadian-born French designer through a report by the media outlet, CNN.

The same article claimed that she was actually 84 years old, although it was hard to confirm it due to her different birthdays reported by various media companies.
Born in Switzerland, Jocelyn initially got married to Alec Wildenstein, a French billionaire who got his fortune from working as an art dealer in New York. She lived a glamorous and rich life until the couple filed for a divorce in 1997.
The then-couple drew massive attention from the tabloid media, especially for Jocelyn's appearance. Through the years, a drastic change in her face was noticed, replicating the feline features of one of her biggest love affairs — her obsession with African big cats.
"She thought she could fix her face like a furniture. The skin doesn't work that way. But she didn't listen to me," said her ex-husband in a report by the media outlet, MK.
After a two-year mud-slinging over allegations of infidelity and domestic violence, the two split in 1999 where the socialite would receive 2.5 billion USD and an additional 100 million USD every year until he died in 2008.
At the time, the judge also recognized that she went under the knife "too much" and ordered her not to "use the settlement money for plastic surgery." However, she repeatedly denied that she got her features due to cosmetic procedures.
Later, Jocelyn met her second partner Klein and fell in love, although they made headlines in 2016 and 2017 after the socialite got arrested twice by the police for excessive arguing that led them to apply restraining orders against each other.
One of the causes of their fight was due to her stress over financial struggles, Klein told People. In 2018, Wildenstein filed for bankruptcy and maintained that status in 2023 despite a huge divorce settlement fee.
She kept lowkey from the public for years after that aside from helping her partner with his show and she explained that it was to protect her two children from the media.
