This winter season, the so-called "brown blush" is expected to become the new makeup trend, giving that summer's "sun-kissed" glow in the middle of the cold weather.

While the viral "red blush" is still amongst the most popular hacks this winter to achieve a natural-looking flush, Marie Claire also opted for the "brown brush" as the "easiest and most versatile" makeup product for this season.

This blush's shade has been existing for years, but it's only due to the emerging TikTok influence that beauty lovers were able to appreciate its beautiful and sophisticated touch.

Jess Kohn, a Laura Mercier makeup artist and a National Education and Events Manager highlighted why people are experimenting with the brown blush, particularly this winter.

She said:

"Brown blushers are so popular now as they add warmth and dimension to the skin without overpowering the complexion—almost like a blusher and bronzer in one."

Contrary to the vibrant flush from pinks and corals, brown is just right for soft glam and sun-kissed makeup looks. Unlike the above colors, brown also matches all skin tones.

To have a "sun-kissed" look, Jess suggested applying the blush across the cheeks and the nose bridge, the areas where the sun is reflected the most. Shoppers with oily and combination skin can choose powder to create a matte finish. Whereas, for those with dry skin, a cream or liquid type is recommended for a dewy finish.
