What Is Skip-Care? Actresses, Idols Ignite South Korea's New 'Minimalist' Beauty TrendCredit : Jihyo,Kim So Hyun/Instagram

While some celebrities are doing over 30-step skincare routines, South Korean stars aroused attention by doing the so-called, "Skip-care," a "minimalist" beauty trend.

For beauty lovers, it is essential to have AM and PM regimes, which comprise different products to apply and take. This doesn't only mean that the skin will have many more products to absorb and get used to, but it also hints at the massive cost it will cause.

With this, South Korea, the "land of best skincare" ironically decided to hop on the "skip-care" trend, which means saying "goodbye" to some of its "not-so-beloved" products. Rather, shoppers should focus on the most efficient and effective items worthy of investing in.

While the trend's name might be a bit confusing, it doesn't mean that you will be skipping the whole skincare routine — but it is about rethinking one's choices if what really works well with your skin — and skip those items added just for "experimental" results.

This trend is not new and was once been on the rise in the 2000s, but the movement rose again as more Gen Z top-tier stars joined the "Skip-care."

The 97-born leader of TWICE, Park Jihyo (27), is among the idols who promote this "minimalist" skincare. She only uses three products excluding her makeup removal, highlighting that "too much" is "unnecessary," according to Tatler Asia.

Another Gen Z actress who ignited this "skinimalism" trend is Kim So Hyun, a 99-born notable for her works such as "Love Alarm," "The Tale of Nokdu" and the film, "Unforgettable."

With her youthful and glowy skin, one would not even notice that she only used 3 products for her skin to hydrate, moisturize, and protect it from the sun's UV rays.

She also loves getting skin revival treatment to cut steps on her laid-back skincare routine. "It addresses problem areas and maintains skin clarity and texture without having to put in a lot of effort and time," said Kim
