Miss Grand Thailand 2022 Engfa Waraha put her two cents in regarding Miss Myanmar's controversial rejection of her 2nd-runner-up title.
On Oct. 27th, Miss Grand International 2024, which took place in Bangkok, crowned India's bet Rachel Gupta as the winner, followed by Miss Philippines CJ Opiaza as the first runner-up and Miss Myanmar's Thae Su Nyein as the second runner-up.
However, Thae broke down in tears during the coronation due to satisfaction, which intensified as Myanmar's National Director Htoo snatched her crown and sash before abruptly leaving the venue.
This scene left not only pageant enthusiasts in disbelief, but even the key people behind the prestigious event were also frustrated.
During an interview with Engfa Waraha, the current national director of Miss Grand Thailand, she shared her thoughts and feelings about Thae's controversy.
Here, she revealed that she predicted Miss Myanmar would be able to enter the Top 3 and confessed that she used to admire her beauty. However, Waraha cited Su Nyein's "lack of professionalism" as the reason she was left disappointed.

Engfa, who only won first runner-up during her competition in 2022 can understand Thae's broken heart, but she also reminded her that a true beauty queen accepts any results gracefully with a mature outlook.
The Thai beauty queen added Thailand as an example, wherein they always accept results with chin up despite being the founder of the pageant.
To those justifying what happened emphasizing that Thae is still an 18-year-old teenager, Engfa indirectly responded, "To be able to stand on a world stage like this, professionalism is a must, no matter how old you are."
