Face shaving has long been associated with men. But in recent years, there's been a surge of women adopting this practice.

In fact, we thank the skincare enthusiasts and the #beautytok for introducing us to face shaving and its multiple benefits to the skin, such as getting a smoother texture, better makeup application, collagen stimulation, among others. What's more? It's simple, cheap, painless, and can be done in the comfort of your home!

Without further ado, here are 5 easy steps of face shaving to achieve that glow!

1. Clean your face

Before shaving, make sure you wash your face with a cleanser or mild soap to remove the dirt, then dry it completely. This process will soften and smoothen your face texture, making it easy to remove the hair.

2. Use a dermaplaning razor

Dermaplaning razors are specifically designed for women. If it's not available, make sure to opt for a razor that has a single blade and straight edge.

For your safety, do NOT use dull razors.

3. Apply shaving gel

Spread shaving gel, cream, or soap on your face to soften the hair. This allows the razor to sweep the skin smoothly.

4. Use your free hand!

When you're shaving your face, use your other hand to hold your skin tight while the one with the razor is held at a 45-degree angle. Graze your face with light, gentle strokes, and only apply a little pressure if needed.

Make sure to shave with the hair's grain, not against it.

5. Rinse & moisturize

After shaving, wash your face immediately to remove the dirt. Then, daub moisturizer or cream on your skin to combat the dryness caused by face shaving.
