Sabrina Carpenter's makeup artist has revealed the secrets behind the singer's iconic "gorgeous and glowy" beauty look.
Following the success of her songs "Espresso" and "Please Please Please," there have been countless videos and tutorials posted on TikTok attempting to recreate Carpenter's viral makeup.
In an interview with Page Six Style, the "Nonsense" hitmaker's makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez shared the most accurate "how-to" of Carpenter's look.
Step 1: Apply foundation for the base
After prepping Carpenter's skin, Gonzalez said she applies a hydrating foundation that provides a "skin-like finish" when doing Carpenter's base. Make sure to blend the product well.
Step 2: Apply concealer on under-eyes, blemishes, and other areas where one normally applies it
Dab on concealer where one normally applies, such as the under-eyes or on unwanted blemishes, according to the makeup artist. Layer if needed, and blend well.
Step 3: Add liquid bronzer
To get that "hint of a sun-kissed look," the MUA said she uses a liquid bronzer on Carpenter, such as the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Glow Liquid Bronzer.
Gonzalez gave a major tip to beauty lovers on using liquid bronzer, saying, "My key thing is: always blend, so you don’t see where anything starts or ends. I normally start with the 90 [light to medium] shade and the 100 if I want more depth, and contour the whole face with that -- forehead, cheekbones, temples."
Step 4: Use cheek tint
The product behind Carpenter's "lifted and snatched" look is the Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Cheek Tint. Gonzalez explained that she uses two shades, the baby pink (53) and the mauve (62), to create an "ombré effect."
The makeup artist recommended applying the cheek tint on the "mid-apple" of the cheek and "up toward the hairline."
Step 5: Set the face with a setting powder
Before moving on to the eyes, Gonzalez said she uses various shades of setting powder to lighten and warm up certain areas of Carpenter's face. According to the MUA, she applies Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Glow Setting Powder shade 3 to brighten the singer's lighter points, such as the forehead and jawline, and shade 6.5 or 8 if they want a more bronze look.
Step 6: Use liquid eyeshadow to create Carpenter's ombré eye look
For the eyes, Gonzalez opts for liquid eyeshadow such as the Armani Beauty Eye Tint Long-Lasting Liquid Eyeshadow to achieve the singer's ombré look.
"I really like to ombré the inner corners with the 10S [light violet copper] tint, and then go into an 18M [beige] on the lid and use one of the matte finishes on the edges of the eye. Then, I do a soft, soft hint of an extension -- like a liner, but it looks like it's her lash -- and I'll do that with the 99M, which is a matte black," she explained.
Step 7: Appy mascara
One of the main highlights of Carpenter's makeup is her mascara, and Gonzalez said she uses Armani Beauty Eyes To Kill Waterproof Mascara.
Step 8: Choose rosy mauve lipstick
Another tip Gonzalez revealed was that Sabrina isn't a fan of lippies that are too orange or pink. Instead, she loves putting on the rosy mauve lip color.
The makeup artist then suggested using the Armani Beauty Lip Power Longwear Satin Lipstick in 103 and 106 shades.
"I usually don’t use a lip brush -- I tap it on with my fingers -- but if I want to create that illusion of a fuller lip, I use a smudging brush and feather it on, so it doesn’t look so lined," she shared with Page Six Style.
Step 9: Layer satin lipstick with matte lipstick
Gonzalez said she finishes Carpenter's look off by using the Armani Beauty Lip Power Long-Lasting Matte Lipstick lipstick.
“I really love a matte lip, and shade 207 is a mauve-y brown," she said of the singer. "She loves a brown. So I’ll just do a hint of that with my fingers.”
