RMS Beauty has partnered with Heretic Parfum to launch Scarlet Moon, the beauty brand's first fragrance.
This collaboration marks a significant move for RMS Beauty, which was founded by Rose-Marie Swift.
Swift, known for her strong opinions on clean beauty, expressed her desire for a fragrance that respects personal space and maintains true clean standards.
"I'm really sick of perfume invading your space," Swift told WWD in an exclusive interview. "I've been studying what's in clean fragrances, and they're no cleaner than half the ones out there. I got together with Douglas [Little, Heretic's founder] and learned so much more."
Scarlet Moon boasts a composition of 100% natural ingredients. Its scent profile includes top notes of blood orange, petitgrain heart, and Italian mandarin.
The heart notes feature violet leaf absolute, galbanum, black pepper, and fir needle, while the base notes comprise hinoki, cedar leaf, and Virginia cedarwood.
This fragrance aims to encapsulate the essence of Savannah, Georgia, where Swift resides, combined with aromatherapeutic benefits.
Douglas Little, founder of Heretic Parfum, shared insights into the development process.
"Rose-Marie wanted this fragrance to embody aspects of Savannah, and we got into this adjective play -- she uses the term 'hauntingly beautiful' to describe the place," Little told WWD.
He spent a week in Savannah, which became a turning point in the fragrance's creation.
The launch of Scarlet Moon aligns with RMS Beauty's recent category expansions, including new skincare products and a tinted SPF introduced last year.
Scarlet Moon reflects the narrative of late-night walks in Savannah, blending the natural beauty and mystery of the location into its scent.
This collaboration between RMS Beauty and Heretic Parfum brings a new, plant-based aroma to the market, appealing to those who value clean, natural ingredients in their personal care products.
For those interested in experiencing this unique fragrance, Scarlet Moon will be available for purchase on RMS Beauty's and Heretic's websites for $150.
